A FUNDRAISING coffee and tea morning in Droitwich has raised over £400 for a national dementia charity.

The event, on May 4, in the Community Hall on Heritage Way raised £420 which will provide vital funds for Dementia UK’s specialist Admiral Nurses.

The Admiral Nurses provide life-changing advice and support to anyone affected by dementia.

Funds were raised thanks to the ‘incredible’ support from the family, friends and neighbours of the ‘Time for a Cuppa’ organiser – Judy Brown.

Generous donations were also received from members of the local community and Morrisons Droitwich community champion, David Thomas.

Along with hot drinks, visitors to the tea and coffee morning enjoyed a ‘wonderful’ selection of cakes, a raffle and a had the chance to read from a selection of books or complete games and puzzles.

The room was ‘buzzing’ with chatter and laughter and the organisers were ‘very proud’ to be associated with the ‘much needed’ charity.

A spokesperson said: “Thank you to everyone who supplied cakes, helped on the day and donated so kindly.”

Time for a Cuppa events have taken place across the country between May 1 and 8 to help the charity in its vital work of tackling dementia – the leading cause of death in the UK.
