Could your design become the Wychavon Chairman's official Christmas card?

SPA residents are being urged to show off their Christmassy creativeness and design the Wychavon District Council Chairman’s 2015 festive cards.

Coun Val Wood wants artists of all ages to enter the contest by submitting their designs of paper or card no bigger than A4 (210mm by 297mm).

There are two categories – junior, for under 16s, and adult for those 16 and over.

The deadline for entries is November 6 and all those received will be judged by Coun Wood and Jack Hegarty, Wychavon District Council’s managing director.

Three entries from each category will be chosen and published on the council’s website and on social media.

Members of the pubic will then be invited to vote for their favourite design from each category and the two winning designs will be used as Wychavon District Council’s official Christmas card.

The winning artists will receive a certificate, a number of the Christmas cards with their design on it, and Pride vouchers to spend in Pershore or a WH Smiths shopping voucher to the value of £25 to help with their Christmas shopping.

Winners can choose which prize they want.

Coun Wood said: “This year we would like to see people’s own ideas of what the Christmas season means to them.

“It could be something from our stunning countryside, a furry creature, holly berries or family member – the choice is yours.

“Our Christmas cards are always very popular with people so we’re hoping for a good response, especially with a prize on offer.”

Original paintings can be delivered or posted to: Mrs Karen Maslen, Wychavon District Council, Civic Centre, Queen Elizabeth Drive, Pershore, Worcestershire. WR10 1PT.

Alternatively, e-mail a high resolution JPEG or photo of the paintings to [email protected] to send them electronically.

Name, address, age and contact details should be included with the entry.

Artists will also need to provide their original painting if they are selected as one of the three shortlisted entries.
