Countdown to Droitwich's big Christmas lights switch-on

DROITWICH’S annual Christmas lights switch-on will take place in the town centre next Saturday, November 22.

The big countdown to the illumination at 6pm will be undertaken by the Mayor, Coun Chris Bowden, and Father Christmas.

Prior to that, there will be plenty of festive fun and live entertainment.

From 12pm to 5pm, Father Christmas will be in his grotto in the Heritage Centre, St Richard’s House –

In Victoria Square there will be market stalls from 10am to 5pm and a funfair from 12pm to 6pm.

Entertainment in St Andrews Shopping Centre will come from The Salvation Army Band (2.30pm to 3pm), The Star Project (3.15pm to 3.45pm), The Norbury Theatre’s Jack and the Beanstalk panto cast (3.45pm to 4.15pm), Westacre Middle School Choir (4.15pm to 4.45pm), SB Danceworks (4.45pm to 5pm), ENTW9 (5pm to 5.15pm) and the I-Sing Choir (5.15pm to 6pm).




The Community Choir will be singing in St Andrew’s Church from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Car parking will be free from midday in all of Wychavon District Council’s town centre car parks.
