THE Battenhall Bridge Extension project, delivered by Worcestershire County Council, gained further recognition being highly commended for a national Achievement Award.
This award, the latest in an increasing line, saw the project highly commended in the Highways Management category at The MJ Local Government Achievement Awards, which took place earlier this week.
The Council and its partners, SLC Rail and Alun Griffiths Ltd, were praised for ‘demonstrating an example of innovative engineering which could be transferable to similar situations across the UK’ and ‘demonstrating a ‘can-do’ attitude which delivered the project effectivelyand satisfied the needs and issues of several organisations with the minimum of disruption’.
Councillor Ken Pollock, Worcestershire County Council’s Cabinet Member with Responsibility for Economy and Infrastructure, said: “This is yet another fantastic and very well deserved achievement for everyone involved in the work on Battenhall Railway Bridge.
“I’m thrilled the team have received further recognition for their efforts.”
