County's best acting talent coming to Droitwich's Norbury Theatre for one-act festival

Droitwich Editorial 16th Feb, 2023   0

DROITWICH will witness some of Worcestershire’s best dramatic talent when the county’s annual theatre festival comes to the Norbury next month.

The one-act festival will take place on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 and will see drama groups across the area compete for several trophies and awards.

The winner and runner-up will be able to go forward to the first round of the All England Theatre Festival.

This year the Worcestershire theatre festival, which is a non-profit scheme run by volunteers, will be celebrating its 60th anniversary.

Every spring, the one-act plays are performed in front of an audience and an esteemed professional adjudicator.

The adjudicator critiques each production in front of the audience as soon as it finishes, marking it for acting, direction, stage presentation and dramatic achievement.

The performances will be between 20 and 55 minutes long and will range from comedies and thrillers to dramas, dance and music.

There will be performances at 2pm and 7pm on both days, with tickets costing £8 plus the booking fee.
