Covid restriction lifting means Droitwich Spa's Remembrance Sunday parade and service can 'go ahead as planned'

Droitwich Editorial 14th Sep, 2021   0

THE LIFTING of Covid restrictions means Droitwich Spa’s annual Remembrance Sunday parade and service can go ahead as usual this year.

The announcement came after the Town Clerk attended a meeting about the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Last year – because of the lockdown and restrictions – a virtual event was held, recorded beforehand and broadcast on YouTube.

This year’s commemorations – providing Covid regulations do not change – will take place on November 14 in Victoria Square as previous Remembrance Sunday events did in 2019 and in the years before that.

Also returning will be the soldier silhouette and poppy lights at St Richard’s House and Gardens.

Further details about the parade and service will be released in the coming weeks.
