Crash on A449 Claines Lane caused by falling tree

POLICE have been dealing with a crash on the A449 Claines Lane caused by a falling tree.

There were two cars involved in the incident which happened around 7.30pm on Sunday.

There were lots of debris left at the scene.

Two women were treated for minor injuries.




The tree was dealt with by a fire crew from Droitwich which used chainsaws to chop it up, while a Worcester crew made the vehicles safe.

It came on a day when Storm Ciara has been wreaking havoc on the roads of South Worcestershire.


Worcestershire Highways and Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue crews also dealt with other falling trees in Tagwell Road, The Holloway and Westwood Park, Droitwich, and in Plough Lane, Oddingley.

Another fallen tree blocked half of the A442 in Hallow near to Top Barn.
