CREATIVE youngsters from St Joseph’s Catholic School in Droitwich have built igloos out of milk bottles as part of their studies about the Arctic.

Pupils and staff at the school brought in their containers so the reception children could rise to the challenge set them to bring the topic to life.

Mr Hardie, a parent who works for Muller Wiseman Dairies, donated an astounding 400 unused bottles and Droitwich builders Travis Perkins donated two large pieces of plywood for the base.

Helen Smith, the school’s EYFS leader and English leader, said: “It took two attempts to create our igloo but after the first attempt collapsed, we did not let it defeat us and we rebuilt it again.

“The children have loved being a part of constructing it as well as playing in it.”
