FIREFIGHTERS rescued a dog who became trapped in a culvert in Droitwich.

Edward the dog and his 83-year-old owner were in the water near Monnow Close, after falling down steep banks into the stream.

Boats from Droitwich and Worcester and a wading crew from Kidderminser attended the scene about midday on Friday (November 28).

The pair were thrown a line and a ladder during the incident, which the RSPCA and the ambulance service also attended.

They were both rescued by 1.05pm.

The crews managed to rescue Edward and his owner. s
