A DRIVER has suffered life-threatening injuries in a serious crash in Ombersley yesterday (Thursday).
The incident, which a Volvo hitting a tree, happened on the A449 around 5.30pm.
The car was travelling towards Claines when it struck the tree on the central reservation.
West Midlands Ambulance sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic to the scene.
The driver was freed from the vehicle by firefighters before being treated for serious injuries. He was then taken to Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The doctor travelled with the patient to help continue treatment en-route to hospital. He remains at the QE in a critical condition.
Police have appealed for anyone who has not spoke to officers to come forward.
They are also urging anyone who saw the car or who has dash cam footage of the moments prior to the crash to get in touch.
