THERE was a frightening incident during practice on Saturday when Edmund Burgess’ Bugatti Type 51 overturned.

Marshals were quick to put the car back on its wheels.

Despite being able to walk to the waiting ambulance, he was taken to hospital as a precaution and a further examination revealed a number of injuries and led to him being put in intensive care.

On Monday (July 11) he was released from intensive care and his condition has been described as stable.

These pictures were sent in by Bromsgrove photographer Mike Dodman.

A spokesperson for the Chateau Impney Hill Climb said: “Course marshals and rescue crews were on the scene quickly, removing him from his overturned car.

“The organisers of The Chateau Impney Hill Climb would like to take this opportunity to send its best wishes to Edmund and his family.”
