DROITWICH accountants Ormerod Rutter have pledged to support Bromsgrove’s Men in Sheds Group following an appeal.
The company is backing the group after Age UK launched an appeal for businesses, groups and individuals to become sponsors.
The company has taken out a ‘share’ in the scheme.
For £100, local businesses, groups and individuals can sponsor a Shed Share for a year.
Members of the group meet from 10am to 2pm, Mondays to Thursdays at Unit 1, Metal Ores Industrial Estate, 138 Hanbury Road, Stoke Prior.
Robin Williams, marketing manager at Ormerod Rutter, said: “The scheme is aimed at supporting older men to get together, share and learn new skills – all in the welcoming space of a shed.
“As we’re a local business with strong local connections, we’re always keen to support the local community and when we heard about Bromsgrove’s Men in Sheds group, we immediately knew we wanted to help and keep it going.”
Jo Hughes, Marketing Executive at Age UK Bromsgrove, Redditch and Wyre Forrest said: “We’re really grateful for Ormerod Rutter’s support as every penny helps make sure we can continue to run this much-valued group.”
“Members are provided with a supportive and friendly setting where they can socialise and learn new skills.
“They make a host of things, from wooden bird boxes and planters, to bug houses and bee hotels, in addition to making their own projects.”
