STAFF at a Droitwich and Worcester estate agents raised more than £1,000 by growing moustaches throughout November after being inspired by their own colleague’s prostate cancer.

The group from Nicol and Co took on the Movember challenge to show their support for the company’s mortgage advisor Nick Marsh who was diagnosed and treated for prostate cancer.

Among those shunning a shave for the 30 days were Matt Nicol, Shaun Crowe, Nick Marsh, Luke Alexander, Richard Nicol and Tom Jackson.

Managing director Matt said: “We’ve been supporting Movember for the last ten years, and were even more determined this year after Nick was diagnosed with prostate cancer.”

He added cash was still coming in and they were hoping to collect even more and raise awareness of four causes – prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.

The Movember Foundation wants to halve the number of deaths from prostate cancer by 2030, a condition which over 1.4million men are diagnosed with each year.

Mr Nicol added: “After what Nick went through, we wanted to take part in Movember again in a proud, fun way to persuade more men to get themselves checked out.”

Nick Marsh, who has now recovered after his treatment said: “What a top effort by my pals at Nicol and Co.

“They had a laugh and raised crucial funds and awareness about men’s health at the same time, which was brilliant.”
