Droitwich and Worcester West Household Recycling Centres reopen today

Droitwich Editorial 28th May, 2020   0

WASTE can now be dropped off at Droitwich’s Household Recycling Centre which reopens today, along with Worcester West (Hallow).

It takes the number of tips now open to nine after seven others, including Bromsgrove’s in Romsley, were opened three weeks ago.

Many residents have visited since the successful and safe reopening of seven of the 11 HRCs.

However, due to new social distancing measures, fewer visitors are allowed on site at any one time so cars are having to queue to get into the sites.

Coun Tony Miller, Cabinet Member with Responsibility for the Environment, said: “I’m pleased that we’ve managed to open another two of our Household Recycling Centres.

“I’d like to take the opportunity to remind people to please be patient when visiting, and to check the Let’s Waste Less website before travelling due to restrictions that are in place, across all of our operating sites.

“While the doors to two further HRCs are opening, things will not be running as they were before the lockdown was brought in due to the social distancing measures that remain in place.”

Full details of the restrictions that are currently in place at Household Recycling Centres across Worcestershire can be found on the Let’s Waste Less website.
