THE DROITWICH Arts Network (DAN) has said a big thank you to Malvern Tyres for its support with the Netherwich Canal Basin mural.
Peter Hawkins from DAN presented Alan Mowbray, director of Malvern Tyres, with a poster portraying five years of mural displays.
Peter said: “Malvern Tyres has given us access to their fence above the canal which allowed us to install, secure, maintain and remove the 64ft wide panels that made up the murals.
“Sadly, this year’s mural has been the last to be displayed in the Netherwich basin and DAN is now seeking a new venue.
“Again on behalf of DAN thank you to Malvern Tyres for all their interest, help and support for local art in Droitwich.”
Alan thanked Peter for his kind sentiments and for the poster which he said would be a happy reminder of all that had been achieved.
“We have been delighted to support the annual mural event over past five years knowing how it has helped encourage interest in art for young people.
“We will be sorry not to be involved next year but hope the mural project continues and wish it every success for the future. “
The theme for the 2017 mural project will feature the John Corbett 200th anniversary and his home the Chateau Impney and is to be designed by students from Droitwich High School.
DAN is actively seeking a new venue in the town to display the mural.
