Droitwich author Alison Jean Lester to talk about her book at event in Worcester today

Tristan Harris 5th Aug, 2017   0

A DROITWICH author will be giving a talk at Wayland’s Yard Cafe in Worcester today (Saturday).

Alison Jean Lester is a British American writer who moved to The Spa last year after 25 years in Asia.

She has just released her second novel Yuki Means Happiness which centres around Diana who, whilst young and uneasy in a new relationship, she leaves America and moves halfway around the world to Tokyo seeking adventure.

In Japan she takes a job as a nanny to two-year-old Yuki Yoshimura and sets about adapting to a routine of English practice, ballet and swimming lessons, and Japanese cooking.

But as Diana becomes increasingly attached to Yuki she also becomes aware that everything in the Yoshimura household is not as it first seemed.

Alison will be joined in Worcester by fellow American writer Suz Korb, who lives in Malvern.

Today’s event runs from 2.30pm to 4pm.

Anyone wanting to go should email [email protected] as places are limited.
