Droitwich-based SPArkles WI enjoy a busy summer with wind-surfing, ice cream making and more

SPArkles WI in Droitwich has had a very busy month with members trying their hand at wind-surfing, finding out how ice cream is made and taking part in a knitting in public event, as well as their usual clubs.

Members headed to Upton Warren Outdoor Activity Centre where they learnt how to windsurf at the end of last month as part of their ‘Bucket Club’ which enables the women to try things they would not otherwise get the chance to do.

They also held their monthly meeting at Droitwich’s Churchfields Ice Cream where they saw the cool treat made ‘from cow to cone’.

The Knitting in Public event was held in the Lido Park, there has been an outing for the photography club and the book club members have got together to enjoy their latest read.

President Karen Philpott, who also attended the NFWI Annual Meeting in Liverpool, said: “There’s never a dull moment in the life of a SPArkles lady.”

The group is always looking for new members.
