THE WYCHAVON branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild which meets in Droitwich has made 27 iced cakes to be raffled, sold or auctioned to support St Richard’s Hospice’s Christmas fund-raising drive.
Among the creations hand-crafted from cake and icing are intricate festive scenes, Disney characters and even a lovable pup.
Ann Newton, Chairperson of the Guild, said: “St Richard’s is such a fantastic cause, it just does such incredible work.
“We are all pleased that we can help in some small way to help it continue with such excellent work for the community.
“We have such fun doing it as well – it is great.”
The guild has donated iced cakes to St Richard’s every Christmas for 15 years and in that time has helped raise a fantastic amount for its care.
Charlie Homer, St Richard’s fund-raiser, said: “We all look forward to the annual delivery of the guild’s amazing cakes – it’s always such a treat to see what the group has created.
“We are so grateful to the group for putting so much time and energy into supporting our care to patients, their loved ones and the bereaved.”
St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative and end of life care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses and supports their loved ones.
