DROITWICH-based floorcare company Vax has donated hundreds of pounds worth of vacuums and carpet cleaners to the ‘Let’s Play Tennis in Droitwich Lido Park’ the campaign.
They will be used to raise funds for the drive to get the tennis courts resurfaced which was launched earlier this year by mum-of-two Elaine Newman.
The project will cost £40,000 but if campaigners can raise £20,000, Wychavon District Council will match-fund it and provide the rest.
Caroline Edwards is head of customer care at Vax which has a call centre and distribution unit in Hampton Lovett.
She said many of the firm’s employees lived in Droitwich which is why it was so pleased to be supporting a great cause that would benefit everyone in the town.
“In celebration of a great year of British sporting achievements, we’re backing projects that encourage people to get involved in sports in their local community.”
Elaine said she was delighted with Vax’s generosity and could not thank the company enough for its help.
“It’s fantastic to get the support of such a well-known company based in the town and their kind gesture will help us raise even more money towards an amazing new sporting facility that everyone will be able to enjoy.”
