Droitwich bereavement group attend special Summer Cream Tea

Droitwich Editorial 7th Aug, 2017   0

MORE than 30 people from a Droitwich bereavement group attended a Summer Cream Tea.

The event in the parish room at Droitwich Spa Funeral Directors gave those who gathered the chance to meet up with others in a similar situation.

Each person was also able to release a balloon in memory of their loved one.

Funeral service arranger Elizabeth Neal-Alcock said: “It was an absolutely beautiful event with some very poignant moments.

“One of those was the balloon release where everyone looked up and remembered those they had lost.”

The next bereavement group meeting is on Monday, August 14, at the Salvation Army, Station Street, and the one after will be at St Andrews Church on August 21.

Another remembrance event will be held in the run up to Christmas and, as well as putting lights on the tree in memory of a loved one, it may also feature balloon release, following the success of the first one.
