TWO Droitwich ‘best friends’ with the same surname have been training to take on the London Marathon in aid of two West Midlands sexual violence charities.
Kerrie and Becca Best are teaming up to take on the challenge on Sunday, all in aid of the Children and Young People’s Services of two sexual violence charities, West Mercia Rape & Sexual Abuse Support Centre (WMRSASC) and Coventry Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre (CRASAC).
As a project worker and counsellor at WMRSASC, Kerrie has seen the need for the Children and Young People’s Service and the two are determined to raise the goal of £2000.
Kerrie said: “The children shouldn’t have to come to the centre, however, as long as they do need support it should be available, no waiting list, for as long as it takes.
“We ran together the whole 20 miles and finished feeling good so we have a good plan for the actual marathon.
“I am not complacent about how hard the final 6.2 miles are likely to be but they feel achievable now.”
