RESIDENTS and staff at Droitwich’s Westmead Care Home said ‘Kung Hei Fat Choy’ or Happy Chinese New Year to each other on Friday, writes Nicole Chivers.
The event featured themed celebrations as they welcomed in the Year of the Dog.
Those gathered also enjoyed trying some Chinese cuisine and adorned the home in brightly coloured homemade decorations for the occasion.
Richard Challands, one of the home’s residents, said “it was a nice change to taste some food from a different culture as in my era it was not that common. It’s a treat.”
The activities leader at the home Sarah Eckley said: “We have celebrated Chinese New Year here at Westmead for the past few years and it’s always something our residents and the whole team looks forward to.”
