A CARE worker in Droitwich has taken fundraising to new heights by jumping out of a plane for a cause close to her heart.
Demi Hope, a care assistant at Rashwood Care Home in Droitwich took on the daring challenge as part of the centre’s efforts to encourage team members to give back to the community.
The skydiver has always been passionate about helping others, both on and off the job, so decided to take the leap for Turn2Us, a UK charity helping people in financial crisis.
Care assistant Demi made the jump from 15,000 feet at Hinton Skydiving Centre on Sunday (May 4). She said: “Every day I see how much of a difference support can make.
“That’s why I wanted to do something bold and brave—to raise awareness and money for Turn2Us, a charity that does incredible work helping people get back on their feet.”
Turn2Us supports individuals and families struggling with poverty, offering grants, practical information, and a benefits calculator to help them navigate tough times.
With the cost-of-living crisis affecting so many, Demi’s skydive is more than a thrill-seeking adventure – it’s a lifeline for those in need.
Colleagues, friends, and residents at the care home have rallied behind Demi, helping her raise over £690 so far, with donations continuing to roll in.
Claire Lubbock, community fundraising manager at Turn2us, said: “We’re so grateful to Demi for taking a huge leap for Turn2us.
“Her incredible fundraising will help people facing financial insecurity across the UK to navigate the social security system and get the support they need. Thank you for your bravery and support Demi.”
