CHARITIES, community groups and voluntary organisations are can apply for their share of £50,000 worth of funding, writes Bethany Lewis.
Wychavon District Council will be handing the cash to individual projects which engage the community.
Projects can be aimed at a specific group, such as sports clubs, or can include people from different backgrounds or abilities, as long as the bid helps make a lasting contribution to the local community and promotes physical wellbeing.
Last year 16 groups benefited from funding for projects ranging from buying new patrol tents and to helping build a new village hall to providing an outdoor seating area at a community cafe.
Tracy Grubb, Wychavon’s community development officer, said previous grants had made a difference to many community projects and improved the lives of residents as a result.
She urged groups to submit their proposals as soon as possible.
The deadline for applications in midday on March 29.
