Droitwich Charter Market celebrates its six-month anniversary

DROITWICH’S Charter Market has celebrated its six-month anniversary.

The event, which began on April 21, operates between 9am and 4pm every Friday in Victoria Square.

The launch in April followed a gap of four years after the retirement of the previous market master and a couple of years lost during the pandemic.

The new-look event is being run by Bluebell Events, which has partnered Droitwich Town Council.

It boasts a range of traders, including stalls selling DVDs, Lego and children’s toys, baby clothes, men’s clothing, Avon and beauty, blankets and more.

There are also traditional stalls offering fruit and vegetables, cakes and sweet treats, pies and jams, plants and sauces and chutney.

And there are crafters which have created knitted baby clothes, wax melts and incense, wood turning and gifts, resin art, jewellery, football prints and artificial flower arrangements.

Although now well established, the event would benefit from more footfall.

Chloe Ford, from Bluebell Events, said: “We have had some fantastic feedback so far.

“We are now urging more locals to come and have a look and support their local market.”
