DROITWICH will have its very own traditional Christmas Market coming to town this week.

The event runs daily between 9am and 6pm from Tuesday (December 8) to next Sunday (December 13).

There will be a multitude of log cabin style stalls with festive lights selling all manner of Christmassy items, including art and crafts, gifts and more.

There will be live entertainment from a classical crossover duet and Christmas carols.

The official opening will be done by Deputy Mayor Coun Roy Murphy at 10.30am on Tuesday (December 8).

He will be joined for that honour by Madame Dolores Lilly Chantilly Tres Jolie who will be travelling from the Village of Petit Pois featured in Norbury Theatre’s pantomime of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ in January. Madame Jolie is looking forward to doing all her Christmas Shopping at Droitwich Christmas Market and will be bringing her own shopping bags from Petit Pois which is well-known for being an environmentally friendly ‘green’ village.

There will be more tidings of comfort and joy for seasonal shoppers next Saturday (December 12) when car parking will be free all afternoon and evening in the town centre.
