DROITWICH’S cider and music festival has been hailed a success after thousands passed through the doors and 3,970 pints were drunk over the weekend.

The event, organised by the 4Shires Festivals group, featured 25 country ciders, the launch of five more and, for those who did not like cider, ten cask ales.

Among the top bands performing were the Rattlesnake Jake Band, Jazz Alchemy and Black Voices and there was also a children’s magic and balloon act.

Simon Berry, from 4Shires Festivals, said: “It is another first for the town and another event which we’ll be putting on next year.

“We are delighted with the support of the community. We are striving to bring great festivals with top bands to Worcestershire, specifically Droitwich.

“We have had some fantastic feedback and the children’s magician and balloon act went down particularly well.”
