Droitwich community groups urged to apply for funding as Lions put £1,500 up for grabs

COMMUNITY groups and organisations from across Droitwich are being urged to apply for funding from the town’s Lions Club.

Following the success of last year’s project members Andy Best, Phil Wallis and Brian Eland met up with Droitwich Spa Mayor Coun Roy Murphy to launch this year’s Community Fund Project which will see up to £300 for each recipient from an overall pot of £1,500.

Droitwich Lions’ welfare chairman Andy said the project received a fantastic response last year and he was hoping this year would be the same.

“This year Lions Club International is celebrating 100 years of worldwide service and their major beneficiaries are always local charities and good causes.

“The Community Fund Project is designed to celebrate this and directly assist local groups in need of funds.

“We urge them to apply by the end of March 2017.”

Anyone wanting to apply for a grant from the Droitwich Lions Club can do so by visiting www.droitwichlions.com/contact or call 0845 833 5879.
