Droitwich company cleaned Bromsgrove war memorials free of charge ahead of Remembrance Sunday

A DROITWICH outdoor restoration company cleaned some of Bromsgrove’s war memorials free of charge so they would look pristine for Sunday’s Remembrance and Armistice Day services, writes Ryan Smith.

Directors Lee and Kush and office manager Hannah Butterworth from Hydro Blast Surface Restoration Ltd cleaned the main war monument and Burma Star Memorial last Thursday.

The firm has restored the memorials annually for the past few years after being given permission by the council to carry out the work.

Hannah said the company was honoured to be able to clean the monuments.

“We always try to complete the cleans a couple of days before the Remembrance service.

“We also use an algae treatment which will prevent the regrowth of algae and moss until next year’s clean.”

The firm was also featured in The Standard last winter along with Car Lot Worcestershire, which is on the same site, when they used their vehicles to transport NHS staff across the county to and from hospitals in the severe snow.
