Droitwich company urging other firms to 'do a good deed' with 'Pay it Forward' campaign

A DROITWICH marketing agency has launched a campaign within the local business community encouraging them to ‘Pay it Forward.’

It involves town businesses supporting each other by carrying out good deeds which have a positive impact.

The concept, developed by Fresh Nous, evolved from the idea behind the book ‘Pay it forward’ where good deeds accomplish things that the recipient cannot achieve on their own.

The campaign was recently launched at the Hereford and Worcester Business Expo last month where business owners were encouraged to pay it forward to fellow firms by doing small things such as: writing a testimonial, submitting a Google review or nominating someone for an award.

Celia Felgate, one of the Directors at Fresh Nous, said: “We have been thrilled with the reaction we received at the Expo and we’re hopeful that a chain reaction will ensue where numerous businesses will benefit from these small, yet positive actions.

“We have already seen a great response from the local business community who have been using the hashtag ‘#payitforward’ on social media.”

Since then, the team have taken it one step further by deciding to pay it forward to a local charity who will benefit from the team’s wealth of experience and skills.

Footsteps, a bereavement charity, provides a free support service for bereaved children, young people and their families in Worcestershire to help manage their grief.

The team at Fresh Nous approached this project because they wanted to make a real difference to a charity who carry out invaluable work in the community, but don’t always get the recognition they truly deserve.

The charity’s service manager Susan Smith said: “We all feel enormously privileged – and excited – Fresh Nous has chosen to support Footsteps; we consider ourselves very lucky!”

As part of the launch the team invited as many businesses as possible to do a good deed for another business ahead of National Pay it Forward Day which took place on April 27. But the campaign is an ongoing one and anyone undertaking a good deed should use the #payitforward to talk about it on social media.
