Droitwich Dolphins host gala as part of 60th anniversary celebrations

DROITWICH Dolphins hosted swimmers from Daventry and Dursley in a Dolphins Gala last weekend as part of their 60th anniversary celebrations.

Some 112 swimmers aged from nine to 13-years-old took part in individual and team relay events with the trio of clubs all containing the Dolphins suffix.

And the evening finished with a fun relay race which involved swimmers from all three Dolphins teams.

Droitwich swimmers then presented participants from the other teams with a commemorative medal to mark the special occasion.

Coun Richard Morris said: “Well done to all involved. I congratulate the Dolphins on their 60th anniversary, a massively important organisation to Droitwich.”

Last week, Dolphins swimmers took part in some fun events at the Droitwich Lido as part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.

Daventry are also celebrating their 60th anniversary this year.

Droitwich’s junior team are in action again this weekend in the Junior Swimming League at Nuneaton.
