Droitwich Fire Station open day returns

Droitwich Editorial 11th Jul, 2023   0

DROITWICH Fire Station’s popular open day returns this month to give people a taste of the grueling and life saving work of the regions fire service.

On Saturday July, 15 the fire station will be open to all from 11 am to 3pm with a host of displays, demonstrations and meet and greets with fire service personnel.

Fire engine rides will be the main attraction at the Friar Street station and attendees will have a chance to meet the urban search and rescue team and dog, Radar.

Droitwich Fire Station boasts an ultra-heavy rescue fire engine, which can handle collapsed buildings and large vehicle incidents. Droitwich fire crews can also tackle rope and water rescues.

Watch Commander, Shaun Moser said: “The open day was really popular last year and we hope it’s the same this time around.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to engage with the local community and for them to see what we do.

“I think it’s so popular because we try to do demonstrations that will excite the public and it is so varied here because we cover so many areas and skills at Droitwich.”

Entry will be free on Saturday July, 15.
