DROITWICH Spa Foodbank has received a £5,000 cash boost to put towards their work in the town.
The donation was made by Santander Foundation, which offers grants to charities that help disadvantaged people in their community.The money will be used to help cover their operational costs.
the service provides emergency food parcels for people with financial difficulties. Those take advantage of the help on offer are refered by care professionals.
David Stanbury, project leader at Droitwich Spa Foodbank, said: “This is a wonderful donation from the Santander Foundation for our local foodbank.
“It will help a great deal with meeting our expenses and allow us to continue to help the increasing number of people facing a crisis in our community.”
Maria Grocott, branch manager at Santander’s Droitwich branch, said: “The Santander Foundation makes hundreds of donations every year to good causes throughout the UK.
“Our branch is committed to playing a key part in the community and we are delighted to be supporting Droitwich Spa Foodbank and we hope the donation makes a real difference to local people.”
