DROITWICH Foodbank has praised Redrow Midlands for supporting people in need this Christmas.
The housebuilder, which is currently building new homes at The Orchards, donated £250 to the foodbank.
The funds will support the charity in providing emergency food parcels to local people in need.
The foodbank is part of a nationwide network supported by the Trussell Trust, which works to combat poverty and hunger across the UK.
It provides nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to the organisation in crisis.
Elaine Cartwright, Sales Director for Redrow Midlands, said: “We’re delighted to be able to provide the Droitwich Spa Foodbank with a donation as they support many people in the local community.”
Debbie Ash, project leader at the foodbank, added: “This year has been particularly challenging for many families in our community.
“We’re very proud to have been able to provide 3,000 people with emergency food packages since April.
“The lead up to Christmas is always a busy time, so this donation will certainly go a long way towards helping those in need.”
