Droitwich garden set to open its gates for good causes

Droitwich Editorial 26th Jul, 2022   0

A GARDEN in Droitwich is set to open its gates to raise funds for good causes.

Hiraeth, 30 Showell Road, will be available to view between 2pm and 5pm on Sunday, July 31, and again on August 21.

The third-of-an-acre gardens – back and front – boast many plants, herbaceous, hostas, ferns, acer trees, various other trees and a 300+ year old Olive Tree.

There are also oak sculptures and metal animals including giraffes, elephant, ducks, birds, reptiles, stone statues and verse plaques.

A new patio was laid in 2019 and in late spring 2022, the koi pond and waterfall was taken out and replaced with another garden.

The garden is an oasis of colours, and was described some years ago as ‘a haven on the way to heaven’.

Admission is £3.50 for adults and children go free.
