A GARDEN in Droitwich’s Severn Court, Corbett Avenue, will open from 12pm to 6pm next Saturday and Sunday, June 4 and 5, for The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend and to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice.
A small mix of wild flowers and cottage garden shrubs make up a ‘wild woodland scene’ which has been created in the last five years on a site.
Creator Peter Lea said: “Previously it was a rather featureless area of rough ground and grass.
“My late wife Wynne was the driving force and I did the digging.”
He added he has a lot of plant labels and is hoping some visitors will take them and identify what species are in the garden.
There has been a lot of interest from people who have passed the plot and watched the progress from the other side of a boundary wall.
Peter wanted to open ‘a little garden for little people’ an raise cash for the fantastic cause.
