AN APPEAL has been launched by Droitwich Heritage Centre for a special Queen’s Platinum Jubilee exhibition which will run from May 30 to June 17.
As part of the town’s celebrations to mark the monarch’s marvellous milestone of 70 years on the throne, the centre is asking people who have memories and memorabilia from the Queen’s accession, coronation or previous jubilees to loan it to the venue.
Among the pieces could be items to mark the Silver Jubilee in 1977, the Golden Jubilee in 2002 or the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 when there was a boat regatta on the River Thames.
Heritage Manager Catherine Finn said: “Do you have any photographs of your celebrations we could share or do you have any special memories of one of these occasions?
“Did all your street meet in the one house that had a television to watch the Coronation?
“Did you plant a tree in 1977, or see the Queen on one of her visits?
“We look forward to sharing your items, photos and memories with the rest of the town – please help us to make this an occasion to remember.”
People can put their memories in special ‘speech bubbles’ at the centre or can email [email protected] or call 01905 774312 to contribute.
