Droitwich hockey club raises money for new kit

Droitwich Editorial 3rd Oct, 2014 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

AN IMPRESSIVE £243.02 was raised for goalkeeping kit for Droitwich Spa Hockey Club when a bag-pack was carried out at Asda in Worcester’s St Martin Gate Quarter.

The cash, all raised in a three-hour period, will also be put towards paying for playing kits for the junior section of the club.

Simon Blackmore, the junior development manager of Droitwich Spa Hockey Club, thanked Asda and the staff there for making all the hockey club youngsters feel welcome.

“By supporting the bag-packing, Asda enables a club like Droitwich to purchase important playing kit for goalkeepers which we may not have been able to afford as quickly.

“The youngsters helped raise the profile of the club by talking to people as well as giving something back and learning skills outside of hockey which is important.”
