Droitwich landlord creates dish to mark Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's engagements and wants to find lookalikes to launch it

A DROITWICH landlord has created a special meal to celebrate the engagement of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

And Simon Berry from the Gardeners Arms also wants to find two lookalikes to officially launch the dish and the accompanying drinks.

Simon came up with the idea after reading about the couple in various magazines.

It references Prince Harry’s reported love of fast food when he was younger and reports on Meghan which suggested she grew up eating ‘avocado’.

The Royal Fusion Meal consists of a 6oz British beef burger with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and gherkin, Californian guacamole avocado mayonnaise with soured cream tomatoes, jalapeno peppers, garlic, coriander, onion, squeeze of lemon relish. The burger is served in a white bun with French fries (another reported love of Meghan’s) and a steak tomato barbecue dip.

For drinks, there is a red Pinot Noir (for Meghan) and a choice of traditional cask ales to represent Harry.

Simon said: “It’s great news they’re getting married and I thought it would be fun to create a meal in their honour.

“We want to hear from people if they or someone they know looks either like Prince Harry or Meghan so they can officially launch the dish.”

The chosen pair will get to try the meal for free at the launch.

Anyone who looks like Prince Harry or Meghan Markle or who wants to nominate lookalikes should email Simon at [email protected] or call him on 01905 770192.
