Droitwich Lions Club book sale raises over £500 for Brain Tumour Research

Droitwich Editorial 8th Feb, 2024   0

THE DROITWICH Lions Club have raised over £500 for Brain Tumour Research thanks to their February book sale.

Each month the volunteer charity organisation hosts a book sale to provide vital funds for local charities and causes close to their heart.

This month (February), the charity raised £530 which is being donated to the Lions Brain Tumour Research campaign.

Lions Clubs are set up all across the British Isles to help and support good causes and their latest collective campaign is supporting Brain Tumour Research.

A spokesperson from Droitwich Lions said: “We were delighted by the response at our recent book sale.

“The Brain tumour research project is an important one to us. It is the biggest cause of cancer deaths in the under 40s but receives only very limited research funding.

“As always seems to be the case, the people of Droitwich once again demonstrated their generosity by supporting our sale. We are very grateful to them.”

If you’d like to support Droitwich Lions Clubs’ future fundraising efforts you can attend their book sales on the first Saturday of every month in 2024.

Each sale is held at The Baptist Church, Ombersley Street East, Droitwich from 8.30am to 12 noon.
