MEMBERS of Droitwich Lions have donated £500 to New College Worcester to help blind or visually impaired students who live and study there.
Lions Dave Sherwen and Phil Wallis handed over the cheque to the residential college which the group has supported for many years.
NCW students Tom and Chelsea met with Dave and Phil who found out what the cash was going towards providing for the young people.
NCW fund-raising manager Kevin Hateley said: “We have a long wish list of items we need for the students around the college and this donation will be put towards something on that list.
“We are very grateful to the Droitwich Lions for their support – and that of the people who in turn have supported the fundraising efforts of the Lions.”
The Lions club, which has the motto ‘We Serve’ is open to men and women of all ages and all walks of life.
Through the club’s fund-raising activities the Droitwich Lions has been able to help many individuals and groups locally to improve the quality of their lives, in addition to supporting international causes.
