LITTER pickers from Droitwich have been doing their bit for Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ this week.
The national annual campaign started on March 17 and lasts until April 2.
And local groups such as the Droitwich Spa Litter Squad have been urging people to get out and about to make a difference.
The Droitwich group, led by Clive Shearman, has pledged to pick 100 bags as part of the Great British Spring Clean.
More than 40 bags had already been picked up by Sunday and more have been filled this week, meaning a great start for the area.
Among the areas targeted have been Berryhill and dual carriageway slip roads, Newland Road cycle and footpath, Woodland way, Newland Lane and Tagwell Road.
On Monday and Tuesday, the little litter warriors visited Westacre Middle school, taking pupils on picks and collecting 24 bags including at least seven crisp packets from 1996.
And estate agent Matt Nicol has been supporting collectors by providing litter-picking equipment.
