A DROITWICH man has raised £600 for the disability charity he works for by taking part in a Beat the Boss challenge at the London Triathlon.
Jack Allen, from Spectrum Days, a charity who help disabled people and there families, helping get them out and about, took on the challenge to beat the boss of TSB, CEO Paul Pester in the three stage test.
TSB sponsor the cause and and hold the annual challenge which asks representatives from their charity partners to volunteer to take on Paul and try to beat his time. Paul pledged to sponsor all participants £50 and those who beat his time would receive a further £50.
He completely the triathlon in one hour and 20 minutes whilst Jack finished in one hour and 54 minutes.
Spectrum Days still managed to raise £600 through sponsorship alongside TSB’s mammoth £60,000 for their various chosen charities thanks to kind-hearted donations.
Jack said: “Taking part in the London Triathlon was a real test of endurance but a lot of fun.
“And of course it is incredibly rewarding to see how much money was raised for so many great causes.
“Thanks to everyone who sponsored me, including TSB’s, Pauls Pester, who invited us to take part in his Beat The Boss challenge.”
Paul said: “The money is still being counted but we have raised nearly £60,000 for 46 great causes right across Britain.
“This is a demonstration of ordinary people doing something extraordinary ass a force of good in their local communities.
“The triathlon was a culmination of many months of training for TSB partners and our local charity partners.
“The atmosphere was fantastic and it was great to see so many friends and family out supporting out TSB triathlete who put in a brilliant performance, especially those who Beat The boss.”
