Nigel Huddleston MP has launched his first-ever constituency pub of the year competition, giving local residents the chance to vote for their favourite ‘local’ across Droitwich, the Vale and the surrounding villages.

More than a dozen establishments have already nominated themselves to take part, and voting is now officially open.

Each participating boozer will display branded beer mats with a QR code allowing customers to vote directly from their table.

Pubs have long been at the heart of communities – offering not just a place to enjoy a drink, but a hub for social connection, charity fundraising, live music, and much more but approximately 300 shut for good last year according to the British Beer and Pub Association.

Nigel Huddleston MP said: “Our local pubs are a vital part of community life – supporting jobs, bringing people together.

“This competition is a fun way to show some support for your favourite local, whether it’s a country inn with great food, a lively community pub, or a hidden gem.

“I encourage everyone to get involved by scanning the QR code and casting their vote.”

Voting will close on September 5.

The winning pub will receive a certificate, media coverage and the title of Constituency Pub of the Year 2024.

To vote, simply visit one of the participating pubs and scan the QR code on the official beer mats.

For pubs that would like to self-nominate Nigel’s team are still accepting entries.
