Droitwich mum Jade to run London Marathon in memory of Millie and to raise funds for Tommys

A DROITWICH mum is making a marathon effort to raise cash for a baby loss charity which is close to her heart.

Jade Scott-Walker is running the London Marathon on April 27 to boost the coffers of Tommy’s Baby Loss Charity in memory of her daughter Millie who was born sleeping in February 2023.

The 36-year-old wants to raise awareness of baby loss and raise funds to help more families bring their babies home.

She said: “Having to say our goodbyes to Millie and walking out of the hospital without her was the hardest thing we have ever had to do.

“I was a mum, but my baby wasn’t there.

“We think about Millie every day and, during the hardest of times, I wanted to do something positive to keep her memory alive.”

Jade, who was from Vines Lane and now lives in Worcester, began training to run last year’s marathon but became pregnant and Millie’s little brother Stanley had other ideas. He was born in April last year.

Jade said: “People shy away from conversations about baby loss as they don’t always know what to say or are worried about saying the wrong thing.

“Fundraising for Tommy’s has given me more confidence to talk about Millie and my own experiences.

“Hopefully I can go some way to lifting the taboo around baby loss and raise awareness of Tommy’s Charity.”

“I am running the marathon in memory of Millie.

“We always talk about her and even though she never met her little brother Stanley, she will always be a part of his life.

“By sharing my story, I want to show others going through their own journeys of baby loss that there is hope.”
