Droitwich Natwest bank becomes first to do part for Fairtrade

Droitwich Editorial 19th Feb, 2015 Updated: 17th Oct, 2016   0

NATWEST is the first Droitwich bank to show its support of the Fairtrade movement.

Staff at the branch have made a pledge to only drink Fairtade tea and coffee, in their workplace, as part of their campaign to support the foundation.

Workers at the bank are encouraging others to follow their lead and join the many shops and businesses in the town either selling Fairtrade products or supplying them to their staff.

Anyone who supports the campaign will be included in Droitwich’s new Fairtrade directory which is currently being produced using money donated by Waitrose as part of their green disc charity scheme.

This will soon be available from the library and other places in the town along with on the Fairtrade website.

Judith Cussen, chair of the Droitwich Fairtrade Group, said: “We are delighted NatWest has made this very responsible decision.

“There are a wide range of Fairtrade products now available and we hope other businesses in the town will follow Nat West’s example.”
