DROITWICH’S Dorset House Nursing Home held a tea party for residents, loved ones and the local community to mark Silver Sunday and Grandparents Day on October 2.
Silver Sunday is a national occasion aimed at combating loneliness in the older generation, and those in attendance at Dorset House’s event enjoyed a range of fun activities.
Among those in attendance was Sital Harris who took time to speak to residents and their families.
Guests gathered in the communal rooms with seating spreading out into the home’s grounds for people to enjoy the autumnal sunshine.
Chef Karen Viray baked cakes and there was a fully stocked bar, and guests and residents were entertained in the dining room by vintage singer Johnny Tarrino.
Dorset House home manager Karen Johnson said: “We certainly know how to pull off a celebration here at Dorset House.
“The food and entertainment were spectacular and it’s always great to see our residents spend valued time with their loved ones as well as meet new people”.
