RESIDENTS can have one electric blanket tested for free at Droitwich’s Olive Branch Community Centre, Winnetts Lane, on Wednesday, November 15.

The event, organised by AgeUK Droitwich Spa and District and supported by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and West Mercia Police, will take place from 10am to 1pm.

Fire and police representatives will also be present to give safety advice and AgeUK will provide tips on keeping warm this winter and free benefit and home energy checks.

Old electric blankets which fail tests will be replaced, while stocks last.

Jan Phillips, Chief Executive Officer at Age UK Droitwich Spa, said: “As the temperature drops many people are struggling to keep their homes warm. We are working with our partners to make sure that vital information about keeping warm this winter is available to the older members of our community”.

To make an appointment to have an electric blanket tested, email [email protected] or call 01905 772126.
