DROITWICH Police have appealed for help tracking down vandals who have been spraying unsightly graffiti across the town.
The Standard was contacted by a resident who was outraged when his house walls were daubed with the distinctive tags.
But he said it was not just his home that had fallen victim.
The man, who did not want to be named, said: “It’s absolutely everywhere – especially near Ombersley Way and Briar Mill.
“There are blue and black tags on road signs, bus shelters, walls and even on the railway bridge.
“My wall is quite rough so it did not look too bad but on the smooth services, like road signs and bus shelters, it looks awful.”
He was forced to spend £14 on some graffiti removal paint to get rid of the horrible looking tags.
Police also confirmed some of the murals in Droitwich’s underpasses had been targeted.
They have been coated with graffiti-proof coatings so it should not be too difficult to remove the tags.
But, the man added: “Why should we have to clean these areas – this should not be happening.”
PC Warren Edmund, from Droitwich Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “There have been patrols but no-one has been seen committing this criminal damage.
“It’s also been happening in Worcester and Malvern, as well as Droitwich but we need to catch the culprits.
“It’s appalling – especially on the murals which are really good and were created for the residents and to make those areas look much brighter and safer.”
He urged anyone who recognised the tags and could link them to the vandals to call Droitwich SNT on 101.
