POLICE in Droitwich have been called in to deal with e-scooters being ridden illegally in the area.
This morning, they received several reports of teenagers riding the vehicles around Swan Drive between 8.20am and 10.20am.
Officers attended but were unable to locate the youths.
Then, in a separate incident, officers were on patrol in Fernhill Heath and came across two youths on one e-scooter. The vehicle was seized and they will not be getting it back.
Following the incidents, police have urged people who know the teenagers using the e-scooters in Swan Drive to contact them to let them know their identities and, if known, where they live.
People are also urged to submit any CCTV footage they have of the area at the time.
Call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to submit information.
Warning to e-scooter users
Police want to reiterate that, although e-scooters are available to buy, they are currently illegal to use on public roads, pavements, cycle lanes and pedestrian only areas.
E-scooters are currently classed as Personal Light Electric Vehicles by the government and fall under the same laws and regulations that apply to all motor vehicles in terms of requiring insurance, tax, MoT, licence and registration.
